The Chef’s Passion
Curry N Wok chef Kalai is an accomplished restaurateur having successfully started and sold two restaurants in Massachusetts. He started “The Pongal” in 2008 where he was also the executive chef and manager. Kalai designed the interior of the restaurant and used the warm colors and decorations typically found in the interior of homes in rural southern India. This is the part of India that has inspired his recipes and cooking styles.
After a successful launch of the “The Pongal”, Kalai opened up another restaurant “The Pongal II” to bring his menu with a focus on southern Indian cuisine to the western suburbs of Boston.
In “Curry-n-Wok” Kalai has designed a menu adding urban Indian cooking styles to his popular rural Southern Indian cuisines. He uses fresh home made aromatic spices to recreate the traditional flavors and wants to dedicate his art of cooking to all patrons.
